After having their six game losing streak snapped against the Wheatley Sharks on Monday, the Admirals will look to bring their new winning streak to two games tonight against the same Wheatley Sharks. The Admirals are coming off a hard fought win against the Wallaceburg Lakers last night in Walpole Island.

Kyle Morand and Brett Beattie will sit this one out after getting game misconducts last night and James Brooks and Zach Brown will check back in. Klinton Kenny gets the start in goal.

The Admirals have 12 goals in the last three games despite getting shutout Monday in Wheatley. They’ll need to have the offense rolling tonight if they want to get the win as Wheatley is third in the league in goals for.

Let’s take a look at the Admirals roster!

2. Cody Leeming
4. Mark Sobocan
6. James Brooks
7. Kyler Carter
8. Ryan Jones
9. Steven Spada
10. Conor Rennie
11. Josh Laframboise
12. Dan Bachynsky
14. Dan Matoski
15. Zach Brown
16. Curtis Prymack
17. Thomas Eady
18. Blake Rutckyj
20. Chad Copeland
21. Colin Hamilton
22. Andy Britton
24. Luke Gagnon
1. Klinton Kenny
30. Chris Wallace

19:50: A little bit of rough stuff after the whistle and Spada will get the only penalty. Admirals on the kill early.

17:50: Kenny makes a couple of nice saves and the Admirals kill it off.

16:50: Brown lights up the Wheatley forward cutting across the middle. Huge hit.

15:07: A couple of chances for Spada that shift, but MacKinnon keeps them out.

14:25: Puck finds its way behind Kenny but it looks like Jones was there to block it. Great play.

12:18: Admirals  slowly starting to take control of the game. Lots of offensive zone time.

10:52: Eady turns the puck over at their blueline and the puck goes back the other way. Eady hits Woelk and gets called. He gets five minutes and a game misconduct for a head check.

10:12: 1-0 Sharks
It doesn’t take long for the Wheatley power play to capitalize. A point shot from Babkirk finds its way through the screen. No chance for Kenny on that one.

6:30: Some big saves by Kenny on the kill. Especially on a tipped point shot. Great reaction save.

5:24: Rivard goes off for slashing and the Admirals will get their first power play of the game.

3:50: Beautiful chance for Copeland off of a pass from Matoski but he can’t pull the trigger. That would’ve been a goal if he could’ve got a shot off.

1:31: Admirals back on the PK as Brooks goes off for hooking.

0:43: Bowman gets two and a game for checking from behind. Once the Admirals penalty expires they’ll have a great chance to tie this game up.

16:37: 1-1 Tie
Hamilton takes a great pass from Backynsky and after he got his first two shots blocked, his third finally finds a hole in MacKinnon. That’s a big one.

14:39: A turnover in the defensive zone leads to a good chance for Wheatley. Kenny says no.

12:51: Brown glides into a solid hit and gets called for charging. Not sure about that one. Admirals will be short a man. Somehow Brooks gets the call.

9:20: Laframboise receives a great pass from Hamilton on the door step and gets absolutely robbed by MacKinnon. Unbelievable save.

8:22: 2-1 Sharks
Kenny comes out to play the puck and misses the pass. The Sharks pick it up and Zsebok finishes off a nice passing play.

3:07: Great chance for the Admirals as Carter and Matoski go in on a two-on-one. MacKinnon makes an unbelievable save.

18:37: 2-2 Tie
Spada pressures the Wheatley defenceman forcing a turnover and he walks in a buries a wrist shot by MacKinnon. That was a real nice play.

16:09: Britton takes a cross-checking penalty behind the play and the Sharks will get another shot on the power play.

14:19: Admirals penalty kill doing a good job of getting in shooting lanes. Kenny makes a nice save on the one shot that does get through.

13:31: Gagnon goes off for charging. Looked like incidental contact to me, but the Admirals will be shorthanded nonetheless.

12:46: Jones gets crushed illegally by Fontaine. He gets five and a game for boarding. Huge PP coming up for Amherstburg.

10:25: A few good chances so far on the power play but MacKinnon keeps them all out.

9:41: Not much flow this period. Loooots of whistles.

8:10: Brown gets his stick up a little high. He’ll sit for two minutes or less.

6:08: Kenny stands tall with another save. He’s seeing the puck well tonight.

3:29: What a save by Kenny. The Wheatley forward was all alone in the slot and he robbed him blind.

1:35: Backynsky does a nice job backchecking and might have just saved a goal.

2:25: Admirals carrying the play in the OT. Brooks had a great chance that he ripped just wide.

1:20: 3-2 Sharks
Babkirk beats Kenny for his second goal of the game. That’ll do it.

Hard fought game and a valuable point for us. After dominating the OT, one bad break and Wheatley ends it. Unlucky. Thanks for reading folks!
