Tonight the Amherstburg Admirals host the Mooretown Flags in the battle of teams looking to snap their losing streaks. Mooretown has lost their last three games to Belle River, Essex and Blenheim, while the Admirals also haven’t won in their last three.

The season series is tied at one game apiece, with the Flags winning 7-5 in Mooretown and the Admirals winning 2-1 in Amherstburg. Steven Spada has enjoyed success against the Flags this season, with two goals and an assist in the two games, while Dan Matoski, Ryan Jones and Chad Copeland each have two points. The power play has been good for the Admirals against Mooretown this season, going 4-for-16 while the penalty kill has successfully killed off 14 of 16. Special teams could play a big part tonight.

On the other side of things, Dan Lumley has played well against the Admirals, with four points in two games. Goaltender Brandon Johnson has stopped 86 of the 92 shots he’s faced in the season series.

A win tonight would put the Admirals just two points behind Alvinston for fourth place in the league.
