Two goals from Mark Sobocan led the way to a 5-4 Amherstburg Admirals victory over the Alvinston Flyers Nov. 24 at the UCCU Complex.

After falling behind 2-0 following a first period goal by Chad Rainsberry and another goal less than a minute into the second by Dan Warner, Mark Sobocan got the Admirals on the board with a power play tally. Rainsberry would score his second goal of the game at 7:57 of the second frame, just 25 seconds after the Sobocan power play marker.

Trailing 3-1, it was time for the Admirals to take over the game. Second period goals by Luke Gagnon, Colin Hamilton and Sobocan’s second of the game gave the Admirals a 4-3 lead heading into the third period.

At the 8:27 mark of the third period, Blake Rutckyj (1G, 1A) would add to the Amherstburg lead. Karsten Berg would score just over a minute later to make it a one goal game, but that’s as close as the flyers would get as the Admirals snapped their four game losing streak.

Amherstburg will travel to Belle River Friday night, to face the struggling Canadiens. The Admirals won the last meeting 6-5 at home.
