The Amherstburg Admirals scored twice in just 16 seconds to secure a point before falling 4-3 in a shootout to the Mooretown Flags in Mooretown.

Dan Lumley opened the scoring 4:08 into the second period to give the Flags a 1-0 lead. It would be the only goal in the first 40 minutes of play.

Brett Beattie tied the game for the Admirals early in the second period but two goals by Jeff Schroeter gave the Flags a 3-1 lead with less than five minutes to play.Beattie beat Mooretown goaltender Brandon Johnson for the second time at 17:16 to bring the Admirals within one, before Dan Matoski tied the game just 16 seconds later off of a scramble in the slot.

Schroeter capped off a tremendous effort with the only goal in the shootout as Johnson stopped all three shooters he faced.

Admirals goalie Arren Romeril made 36 saves in the loss.

The game tonight against the Wallaceburg Lakers has been cancelled and the Admirals will back in action on Friday when they travel to Dresden.
